Guided Meditation – Feeling the good, letting go of the bad

I'd be happy to guide you through a meditation focused on feeling the good and letting go of the bad. Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, and let's begin:

  1. Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose, allowing your abdomen to expand as you fill your lungs with air. Hold the breath for a moment, and then exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any tension or stress you may be holding onto. Repeat this two more times, allowing each breath to relax you more and more.
  2. Now, bring your attention to your body. Notice any areas of tension or discomfort without judgment. Imagine a warm, golden light surrounding those areas, gradually melting away the tension and bringing a sense of relaxation.
  3. As you continue to breathe deeply and evenly, bring to mind a recent moment or experience that brought you joy, happiness, or a sense of peace. It could be something as simple as a beautiful sunset, a kind word from a friend, or a moment of personal accomplishment. Allow that memory or experience to fill your mind and body with positive emotions. Feel the warmth and joy that it brings.
  4. As you focus on the positive feelings, notice if there are any lingering negative emotions or thoughts that may be present. It's normal for them to arise, but for now, we'll acknowledge them and let them go. Visualize those negative emotions as dark clouds or heavy weights.
  5. With each breath, imagine yourself exhaling these negative emotions. As you breathe out, visualize the dark clouds dissipating and the heavy weights being lifted from your shoulders. Allow yourself to release any anger, frustration, fear, or sadness that you may be holding onto.
  6. Now, bring your attention back to the positive feelings and sensations. Imagine them expanding within you, radiating throughout your body. Feel the positive energy flowing through you, filling every cell and fiber of your being. Embrace the feeling of peace, joy, and contentment.
  7. Take a few more moments to bask in this positive energy, allowing it to nourish and uplift you. Know that you have the power to choose what you hold onto and what you let go of. You can always return to this state of peace and release any negative emotions whenever you need to.
  8. When you're ready, gently bring your awareness back to your surroundings. Wiggle your fingers and toes, stretch your body, and open your eyes.

Remember, this is a practice that you can return to whenever you feel the need to let go of negativity and focus on the positive. With time and consistency, you can cultivate a greater sense of well-being and emotional balance.
